What is the difference between gold plated and gold filled?
When sourcing out findings (the metal components of our jewlery), I look for gold filled over gold plated due to the thicker nature of the gold covering over the based metal.
Gold plated jewlery will often be slightly cheaper as this tends to have a thinner covering. The quality is still great, however I do not suggest swimming nor sweating in these pieces.
The base metal will most often be sterling silver or stainless steel to protect against any form of rust.
What if I resonate with the gem meaning, but don't love the color?
That's okay and an honest admission! We can consider a custom that includes both colors you resonate with and a stone that speaks to your needs.
